Help for Bladder Infections

I thought I would post this reply for help with some with bladder infections. As always these statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Now that we have that little disclaimer out of the way here is the reply...

From Maryanne.....
I do have some advice for this poor woman - I can understand her pain!!

I just recently endured and cured a bladder infection naturally, so I am
trying to be as thorough as possible here. This is a mixture of personal
experience and a 'natural remedies' book:

Clumps of blood in her urine could 1) signify a deeper issue than a bladder
infection - she really should see a doctor; 2) she needs to eat and drink
only things that will alkali her urine and soothe and flush her urinary
system:

Get as much sleep as possible in between runs to the ladies' room.

Avoid all sugar, caffeine, sodas, dairy, meat, animal products - including
eggs. Eat only fresh, raw vegetables - celery is excellent. If she craves
protein, drink Energizing Soy Protein mixed with PURIFIED water.

I suggest cutting back on the Vitamin-C for a day or two (too acidic). If
she feels improvement, stay off of the C until she is done with the
infection. I highly recommend taking the Shaklee Time Release C - it is much
gentler on the urinary tract.

Continue the OptiFlora even 3x's/day - think 'soothing'.

I have found Shaklee B-Complex, taken throughout the day, soothes my entire
body; relaxes the spasms. I honestly believe that it helps to prevent my
cystitis. (I developed one within a week of running out of it. I now keep
extra bottles in supply.)

The allicin in crushed garlic clove is an excellent natural antibiotic. 3x's
per day, for 10 days, place a crushed garlic clove on the back of the
tongue, and swallow it. Be aware that others will smell her enter a room,
so taking 2 Shaklee Garlic tabs (w/ mint) can be taken in place of each
fresh garlic clove to alleviate such odor.

Drink LOTS of PURIFIED water - at least 1 gallon/day. 8 oz glass per hour at
least - seems counter-intuitive when it hurts so much each time she
urinates. The key is to flush out the bad stuff.

Urinate at least once every 2-3 hours. If not - drink more water. (or see
'homeopathy' at the bottom)

NutriFeron will definitely boost the immune system to fight a raging
infection, but if she is completely against antibiotics (which I am) she
also needs to take some natural remedies that will soothe the irritated
membrane inside of her kidneys, bladder, and urethra.

Alfalfa is good - make it into a hot tea - for prevention, but I also found
that the teas and herb tonics ('K-B Cleanse') on the Dr. Schulze website
were excellent for curing an infection - www.herbdoc.com, or 1.800.herbdoc.
Order the 'Cayenne Pepper' tincture with it - she'll be happy she did! She
can have them over-nighted to her. (P.S. Cayenne is amazing for disinfecting
the entire excretory system)

Take 1 Cran-Actin cranberry tab or capsule 4x's/day with plenty of PURIFIED
water. It is less expensive than pure cran juice, is more concentrated, and
more convenient than the juice. I also think that it is more soothing than
the pure juice.

My bladder also liked the herb tonic 'Buchu' (found at a natural foods
store) - it did help to soothe my spasms. But the 'K-B Cleanse' is what
really healed my insides and flushed out the infection within 7 days.

I did take some colloidal silver, but only 6 droppersful under the tongue
2-3x's per day until the pain was gone (< 7 days). I would not recommend
this long-term.

Get Braggs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar and drink 2 tbsp with 8 oz of water
after awakening in the AM. Can take it more often throughout the day, it
alkalines the urine and it's a great kidney flush.

Homeopathy:

Cantharis 30X (or 30C) is usually recommended for chronic UTI's - 1 small
pill under the tongue once per day until the pain is gone.

If her urethra becomes blocked because of swelling, and she is unable to
urinate, I recommend Apis 30X (or 30C), 1 pill under the tongue as soon as
possible. Be close to a ladies room when taking it and until it alleviates
the swelling and urine is released. Apis also has helped me to alleviate the
pain that lingers at the opening to the urethra after urination.

Key to preventing UTI's, Cystitis, Bladder or Kidney infections: drink
plenty of water before, and then urinate immediately after sexual
intercourse.

Choose your take out Wisely

So what's cooking for dinner? A recent study appearing in Food Technology magazine says meals made from scratch account for 32 percent of all dinners, which means your stove's probably collecting dust.

Still, as much as home-made, fresh-ingredient, preservative-free chow is
healthier (assuming you're not making chicken-fried steaks with mash), eating
takeout doesn't have to shave years off your life expectancy. Just make the
right choices.

"There's more to eating healthy than just salads," says Dr. Jo (aka, Joanne
V. Lichten Ph.D.), a registered dietitian and author of the upcoming book,
'Eat Out & Lose Weight.' "Fast food can fit into any diet."

In that spirit, we found five fairly healthy takeout dishes:

Chinese -- Shrimp With Garlic Sauce: With 25 percent of its calories coming
from its 27 grams of fat (based on averages from a lab analysis survey done
in the '90s), this meal scored well with the Center for Science in the Public
Interest (CSPI). Because of its high cholesterol content, though, you might
want to pass on the shrimp and go with chicken instead (beef if you've been
otherwise behaving yourself). As for the rice, always go for brown, not white
or fried. In fact, always eschew "fried" in favor of steamed.

Mexican -- Chicken or Vegetable Fajitas: Consuming too much fried dough, sour
cream and cheese can really upset things "south of the border," if nothing
else. So when going Mexican, stick with this dish, which sports a wrap that’s
baked, not fried (bonus points for a fiber-packing whole wheat wrap), and a
stuffing -- lean meat, onions, peppers and a salsa sauce -- that's heart safe.
Just skip the cheese and be stingy with the guacamole. Avocados may be a
healthy fat but they're still calorie-heavy.

Pizza -- Vegetarian: We happen to think zucchini, eggplant and wild
mushrooms make a great combo. This way, nutrition-wise, you can have your pie and eat
it, too. Plus, don't forget you're already getting a nice, healthy tomato
sauce, packed with antioxidants and cancer-fighters. As for the cheese, when
possible, ask them to go light (or low-fat) on the mozzarella. Plus, a whole
wheat crust, when available, gives you fiber. Though, warns Dr. Jo, "Stick with
a restaurant that makes pizza the 'old-fashioned' way -- in a pizza oven
rather than on a conveyor belt. The crust will be lower in fat."

The Sandwich -- Subway's Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki: Another treat
championed by CSPI, this selection from Subway's "6 grams of fat or less" line,
offers lean, teriyaki-glazed chicken strips topped with a fat-free sweet onion
sauce, plus your choice of veggies and condiments on 6-inch bread (choose the
wheat, honey oat or Atkins-friendly wrap). Stick to the main ingredients, and
you'll only rack up 5 grams of fat and 279 calories.

The Greens -- Wendy's Mandarin Chicken Salad: Hey, we never said you shouldn’
t have some salad. And you'll be happy with this one, made of mixed greens,
chicken, mandarin orange, sliced almonds and, on the side, Oriental sesame
dressing and crispy rice noodles -- both of which you should add sparingly. CSPI
gave thumbs up to this contender, which weighs in at a mere 420 calories.

Ever wonder Why there is more Cancer today than 20 years ago?

I know I have wonder why with all the technology and scientific breakthroughs we have why is there more cancer today than there was 20 years ago.. Today I recieved this story and information on a documentary done on television. It sure is something to think about...

Recently someone had to have their 5-year old German Shepherd dog put down due To liver ago, so they had a necropsy done to See what the cause was. The liver levels were unbelievable,
As if the dog had ingested poison of some kind. The Dog is kept inside, and when he's outside, someone's With him, so the idea of him getting into something Unknown was hard to believe. My neighbor started going Through all the items in the house. When he got to The Swiffer Wetjet, he noticed, in very tiny print, a warning Which stated "may be harmful to small children And animals."

He called the company to ask what the Contents of the cleaning agent are And was astounded to find out that antifreeze is one of The ingredients, (actually he was told it's a compound Which is one molecule away from antifreeze). Therefore, Just by the dog walking on the floor cleaned with the Solution, then licking it's own paws, it ingested Enough of the solution to destroy its liver. Soon after his dog's death, his housekeepers' two cats Also died of liver failure.

They both used the Swiffer Wetjet for quick Cleanups on their floors. Necropsies weren't done On the cats, so they couldn't file a lawsuit, but he
Asked that we spread the Word to as many people as possible So they don't lose their animals. This is equally harmful To babies and small children that play on the Floor a lot and put their fingers in their mouths a Lot.

PLEASE, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE BABIES, SMALL CHILDREN OR OWN A PET, PLEASE SEND OUT THIS LINK!

11 May 06 - CBC had A documentary on a week Ago or so all about cancer.
One of The reporters had cancer and so she Started to dig up information from Drug companies and other sources. Basically in a nutshell, drug companies Make too much money on people who Already have cancer so they don't Want to invest in preventative measures. They would make no money doing that - Not a good business plan. She also Found out that there are a lot of household Chemicals that we use everyday that have
Known carcinogens in them.

Swiffer Is one and another popular one is Mr.Clean Magic Eraser. Magic Eraser has formaldehyde in it. Not good if your babies Are touching the walls and We're using it with bare hands to clean The walls. They listed a whole bunch Of chemicals to look for in products When we go shopping and I'm sure it's On their website. In Nov '06, there will be new Regualtions that all Products must say on the label whether it Contains Carcinogens or not. It's about time! If any of you get a Chance to see it, or maybe find it On the website, it's really interesting. Explains a lot why people Have more cancer today than They did 20 years ago.

Here is a very good reason as a Shaklee Distributor I recommend their natural environmentally safe cleaning products!!!! Check out the new website that was built just for the NEW Cleaning Products. http://www.shaklee.net/mcasey/getclean
