MGM Supplement: Weight Loss With Green Tea

With the coming of the new year I know that there are some folks out there who would like to start living a healthier life. One of the first things that we all need to realize is that it isn't healthy to loss a lot of weight real fast. In fact studies have shown that those individuals who have experienced yo-yo dieting are more likely to have health problems than those individuals who have never been on a diet in their life. With this information in mind we need to concentrate on healthy way to lose weight and maintain.

Green tea is well known for being particularly rich in flavonoids, and several of these polyphenols—particularly the subclass of flavonoids commonly known as tea catechins— have been shown in vitro to inhibit COMT, the enzyme that degrades nor epinephrine. Given the important role of the Sympathetic Nervouse System and its neurotransmitter nor epinephrine in the control of thermogenesis and fat oxidation, it is conceivable that these catechins, by inhibiting COMT, result in an increase in or a more prolonged effect of nor epinephrine on thermogenesis and fat metabolism or both.

Green tea has been known to have medicinal uses for centuries. The science behind how this ergognic aid has been proven in many peer reviewed studies. By just drinking green tea and doing nothing else our bodies will increase the amount of calories that it burns. Not only is burning more calories good but the type of calories that it burns is good. It has been shown that when green tea is consumed the body actually burns more fat than carbohydrate. (Carbohydrate is what our body likes to burn when there is a absence of the neurotransmitter nor epinephrine in circulation.)

Green tea 'rocks'. I love the flavor, it's loaded with good nutrients, and it helps suppress my appetite some. You can't go wrong with a cup in the afternoon. :-D
