Constipation Remedy Information

Many children and adults today suffer from constipation, a direct problem generally caused from our refined diets. Normally, it may be best to have one to three soft, formed bowel movements per day. Adequate amounts of water are essential to provide fluids to keep the stool from becoming too dry, making it difficult for it to pass through the colon. Generally speaking, a normal size adult does well drinking two quarts of Purified water per day.

Foods high in fiber are essential for the movement of the colon that pushes food through the digestive tract. Today’s highly processed, low fiber foods are so low in fiber the bowels are not able to move the foods through the colon, causing constipation.

Since the colon is the main part of the digestive tract, when food waste material has set in the colon for eighteen to twenty four hours this waste creates harmful toxins. Over time, these toxins may permeate through the wall of the intestine causing other problems including headaches, muscle and jaw pain and sleep problems to name a few.

My experience has shown when fiber in the diet is improved, a balanced Nutritional Program is begun, plenty of water is ingested and a regular exercise program followed, constipation begins to improve within days.

Generally, when looking at processed foods, it is important to look at the side of the package to the nutritional label, and check to be sure there are at least 4 grams of fiber in each serving, and less than 7 grams of sugar in each serving.

Food allergies may contribute to constipation. Many have found eliminating or decreasing the following foods might be helpful:

Milk
sugars
Refined carbohydrates
Meat
Fats or other rich foods
Spicy foods
Coffee
Alcohol

The following foods have been beneficial to us to help increase fiber and fluid in the bowels:

2 quarts Purified Water per day for a normal size adult
Whole grains such as oats, barley, millet, brown rice
Fresh fruits and vegetables
Flax seed or oil (avoid seeds if you have diverticulitis)
Seeds and nuts

When this regimen is followed, it is extremely helpful with constipation problems. For more information on products helpful for constipation go HERE or Call 888-272-6701.
