Thanks Donna Hartenstine & Shirley Kortnik for this information
Below is a report she found that talks about a direction of research at the cellular level that is trying to stop the aging process. As you know, Shaklee CoQHeart has resveratrol in it. Once again, SHAKLEE is already providing us with quality ingredients that other cutting edge research is working on!
FROM SHAKLEE INGREDIENT GLOSSARY:
Resveratrol (natural)
Resveratrol is a compound with antioxidant properties, which is found in red and purple grapes and mulberries. It is also extracted from the root of an herb (Polygonum cuspidatum) traditionally used in Japan and China, and considered to be one of the richest sources of resveratrol. Resveratrol is an ingredient in CoQHeart®, which provides the amount typically found in a glass of red wine. Resveratrol 640 mcg (Polygonum cuspidatum) (root) Daily Value not established.
The article below states: "Of all the compounds the researchers tested, the one that boosted the anti-aging enzyme the most was resveratrol, an ingredient in red wine that's been credited with lowering the risk of heart disease. "

Donna says: A VERY INTERESTING ARTICLE... DOWN TOWARD THE END, THERE IS THIS PARAGRAPH:
"The new report from Sinclair's team is the first to show that it is indeed possible to tweak the sirtuin pathway. The group screened a large number of biologically active chemicals -- simple compounds that can be made into drugs with relative ease. They found several that increase sirtuin activity at least two-fold, including resveratrol. "When they added some of these compounds to yeast cells growing in culture dishes, the cells produced 70 percent more daughter cells than normal -- a common measure of yeast youthfulness. "
