MGM Supplement: Tips on Quiting Smoking

Testimony

What I learned, and it has proven true ever since for me, is that when I am not getting the amounts of vitamin C that my body needs, I crave cigarettes. When I am getting enough, I can't stand to smoke, much less crave them!

I have read in various sources over the years that maintaining a high alkaline diet also helps people quit smoking. It is basically a diet that focuses primarily on fruits and vegetables, and avoids red meat, to put it in very simple terms. Detailed food lists, available on Dr. Lark's website (do a Google to find it), are available, a fruit and vegetable and seafood diet, with MGM Supplement soy protein, is the simple rule of thumb to follow to maintain an alkaline body. Studies have shown that people addicted to cigarettes are often depressed, for they have an anti-depressant effect. So if a person is trying to break the habit, they might be more successful if they use the Shaklee anti-depressant products: soy protein, Vita Lea, lots of B complex, EPA, Moodlift, lecithin, Stress Relief Complex, Herblax, DTX and Unflavored Fiber Plan (cleansing and rebuilding the liver ismandatory with depression problems, according to Chinese medicine).

If one must smoke, make sure you are using the organic cigarettes available now through American Spirit, or at least some of the 'natural' varieties available at smoke shops. Just like with our food supply today, the chemicals added to mainstream cigarettes are as toxic or more so than the tobacco itself!

As for those studies that showed beta carotene was dangerous for smokers: I am sure others on this list over the years have explained why those studies were not valid, but let me add that Barry Sears, PhD, who wrote The Zone Diet books, and who holds something like 26 patents for delivery of drugs to the human body, since that was his career before he developed the Zone Diet to save his OWN life, says that the carotenes need to be taken with vitamin C and E and then they are protective for smokers. He explains why in one of his books, I forget which one. But a good basic MGM Supplement program supports his research in this area!

I have had friends over the years who found that when they got in shape with aerobics, they could quit smoking easily. In both instances, they used swimming as their form of exercise, which really develops the lungs!

When you realize that smoking involves 'deep breathing' in some sense of that phrase, practicing deep breathing exercises several times a day, as well as doing aerobics that force heavy breathing regularly, will help give the body the oxygen it is used to getting from all that 'inhaling.'

I often have wondered if people smoke in part because it is the only way their body can get them to BREATHE! Think about it! Lots of air with smoke in it may be better than very little air with no smoke. Perhaps a lot of the smoking addiction is about a pure air deficiency, so BREATHE! Singing, especially singing lessons that teach breathing, can also be helpful for smokers who want to quit, regardless of singing ability!
